SWITZERLAND Readers's Tips -
Has anyone been to the Neuchatel Wine Festival recently We will be spending 3 nights in Murten or Bern and taking the train.hich town would you recommend Any inexpensive lodging suggestions Thanks
I visited the wine festival during my September 2004 trip.t is a mini Munich Octoberfest with young wine featured along with some beer.here were many international food stalls along with carnival rides covering several square blocks.ew places to sit (no beer halls.un, but I expected more emphasis on wine. My husband and I are have booked our trip to interlaken and lucern.Where do we go to snowboard How far any helpful websites
I thought interlaken and lucern were ski resorts but realized it wasn't. hope its not too far because we really wanted to snowboard.hanks.
Both those towns are on the flat, by the lakes, and both are springboards for many higher locations in the regions where depending on snowfall which so far has been dismal you may go indulge.
Here are a few websites for winter sport in those regions.ome are only in German.ou will need to get a small dictionary or phrasebook, and the few relevant words about conditions will become second nature.
Once you are in Luzern and in Interlaken, you will get the local uptodate info at the tourist offices that is what they do, and they do it well.hen you hop on the train and bus to get you to where the action is.
Meanwhile keep an eye on these:

And make sure you go to these for maps so you know where things are: this site (click for trains.
