I recently mentioned these places, from distant memory that I have just been able to refresh last week.n a fairly grey and soso day we lucked out, approaching Montreux from Lausanne we couldn't even see Glion in the clouds after 1PM, but by the time we got into Montreux, the clouds had lifted, and by the time we drove up to Glion we could even see Caux, and by the time we had a snack by the train station in Caux we could see the rocks of Rochers de Naye.hat a break If the weather is nice and you're in the region, go up there, or better stay a night or three, the views across the lake, down onto Vevey and Montreux, and down onto the Chillon castle and the Rhone delta and up to the mountains are spectacular. You can be down in the city streets of Montreux in minutes. But up there, in fairly unspoiled surroundings, you'll have the best of both worlds. Dear Switzerland experts I am planning to be in Geneva this Xmas for three days ie arrive on the 23rd December and leave on the 27th December. found a lot of the info on this site very useful, but would be grateful for suggested itineraries.either my girlfriend nor I ski, we intend to take public transport and are not too much into the clubbing scene. am of course hoping that the transport system will not shut down entirely during this time The things I want to see/do include: 1.eneva old town lake etc 2.ntreaux, Chateau Chillon, Gstaad 3.terlaken, Jungfrau region 4.usanne 5.e scenic train ride.m considering the Panoramic Express We are booked into a hotel in Geneva for 4 nights and therefore would ideally like to do all of these as day trips.f this is impractical, I would of course try and find a room at any of the above places.
