SWITZERLAND Readers's Tips -
September is more like late summer, warmer, longer days, you get
better value for your money. can think of no reason to wait for
October if you can do it in September.
My wife andamp; I plan on taking the Jungfrau Railways journey in early May.We will be spending most of our Europe trip in larger cities and are trying to travel light. Will we be able to take a brief hike (a mile or so without wearing full winter gear Will we survive with a few layers and leather coats Can we survive without snow boots Any suggestions for activities
Good morning, Stu
Have never been into the BO in May or the early
part of the year, only a couple of times in September and October. Have found the higher
elevations do require layers as well as a good
jacket with parka.don't beleive that a leather
coat has sufficent warmth for these higher altitudes. Also we did at those times run into
about 50/50 rainy weather, so possibly a poncho
would be in order for the lwoer elevatiions.
Would check into www.rneroberland./ for some
idea of the weather temps.you might encounter.
